It is the 6th in a series of eight. Fiend’s Gold where Bill becomes a millionaire. Mania, in which Bill meets his life long buddy Newf. Edinburgh Cuckoos a romp through England and Scotland. Damp Graves, Bill finds the market for body parts. Lions and Christians, Bill and Newf crack a human slave market. The Dutchman, Bill expands his empire and finds a Spanish galleon. Mermaid, where bill finds an old lost wartime mutiny.

Describe your protagonist physically and emotionally and describe the challenges the protagonist needs to overcome and the motivation for overcoming them.

Bill is the reluctant hero with the Midas touch. He is tall, powerfully built and quick to action. He is basically lazy and would prefer to stay at home, but Gran and Newf always manage to fire up his dynamo.

Describe your antagonist, physically and emotionally, and talk about motivation.

Bill’s villain is any would-be gold thief.

Quote a passage from your book that you love.

I’m sorry, darling boy. I tell you what. You take me for an exciting night to one of those expensive hotels and we’ll forget about the job. How does that sound?’

‘Christ, no. I’d rather invade Iraq by myself.’ And I surely meant it.

Elaborate on the meaning of the passage.

Jane is sort of Bill’s nemesis and always gets him into trouble. She’s a vamp of the old school and old enough to be his mother. I love the way she handles him.

Where do you live and how does that influence your writing?

At present I live in Canada in the shadow of the Niagara Escarpment. I have lived in several countries, in Africa, Europe and the Far East. The interesting things I have seen and heard and been part of do affect my writing as I can recall the actions.

Do you have a special routine you go through before you begin writing?

Beore writing any Bill Reyner story I actually go there, the very places where the action takes place. Sometimes I change the names, as they say, “to protect the innocent.” There is nothing like the ambience of reality to encourage imaginary actions.

Where can people learn more about you?

I can be found on Wikipedia, in fact just write my name in any search engine on the Internet and a whole load of information about me will appear.
